How to make a funding announcement video

A funding announcement video should say three things in under 30 seconds: what you raised and from whom, what the company does in one line, and what the money is for. Show the figure large, keep the tone calm, and end on your logo and a link. Post it natively with the announcement and pin it to your company page.

What the video has to say

A funding announcement is read by customers, candidates, investors and press, mostly in a feed and mostly with the sound off. In under 30 seconds it needs to land three facts:

  1. What you raised, and who led it. The round and the amount, if you are sharing it.
  2. What the company does. One plain line. Many viewers have never heard of you.
  3. What the money is for. The next thing you will build or the team you will hire.

Everything else, such as the full investor list, the founding story and the metrics, belongs in the written post.

A structure that works

Beat On screen Time
Open “Today we’re announcing…” or your logo, small 2 to 3 s
The round “Series A”, in oversized type 3 to 4 s
The figure The amount, large 3 to 4 s
What you do One line 4 to 5 s
What’s next One line on what it funds 4 to 5 s
Close Logo, and “We’re hiring” or your URL 3 to 4 s

About 20 to 25 seconds. The Funding Announcement template follows this shape: an editorial film in deep green with oversized figures, halftone numbers and a calm brand close, about 25 seconds long.

Show the number well

If you share the amount, make it the visual peak of the video: the largest type, on its own, held long enough to read. Round it the way you say it: “12M”, not “12,000,000”. If you do not share the amount, let the round name or the lead investor carry that beat instead.

Keep the tone calm

Funding news is about confidence, not hype. Slower motion, generous space and one accent color read better than fast cuts and effects. Save the energy for your launch videos.

Name investors with care

Name your lead investor on screen only with their agreement, and spell their name exactly as they write it. A long row of logos is hard to read in a short video; list everyone in the written post.

Formats to export

  • 16:9 for your website, blog post, YouTube and press kit.
  • 1:1 or 9:16 for LinkedIn and Instagram feeds, where vertical and square take more of the screen.

ASAP Motion supports all three. Export MP4 at 1080p for social; use 4K on Pro or Studio if the video will play on a big screen at an event.

Make it in a few minutes

  1. Open Funding Announcement in ASAP Motion.
  2. Replace the company name, round, figure and the two lines.
  3. Set your brand colors and logo.
  4. Export, and post it natively alongside the written announcement.

For a longer brand film to sit alongside the news, look at Bold Fintech Brand Reel or the other brand and social templates.

A checklist before you post

  • The figure and investor names are approved and spelled correctly.
  • The video makes sense with the sound off.
  • The last frame shows your logo and one next step: a URL or “We’re hiring”.
  • The same video is embedded in your blog post and pinned on your company page.

Questions

Should I name my investors in the video?

Name the lead, with their permission, on screen or in the post. A long list of logos is better in the written announcement than in a short video.

Which aspect ratio is best for a funding post?

16:9 for your site, YouTube and press kit, and 1:1 or 9:16 for LinkedIn and Instagram feeds. ASAP Motion supports all three.
